In addition to traditional consultancy and design duties, Alchemi provide a project management service.
We excel in the management of Mechanical and Electrical Services biased projects, where the input required from other members of the design and construction team is minimal. This can be particularly useful for plant replacement schemes, electricity supply upgrades, gas service upgrades, or where a services biased rollout is procured i.e. fit out of comm.’s rooms.

Whether the design forms part of the project brief or not, we can tailor our service with additional duties including cost management, contractor procurement, programming, management of site activities, Health and Safety management including CDM duties, coordination of design activities, commissioning management and client training.

Our aim is to provide our clients with a cost efficient package and a product that is delivered on time, to budget and to the quality that is expected. We don’t see this as the end of our responsibilities though. As engineers, we believe that any installation, no matter the size or economics, is not complete until it has been commissioned and set to work in accordance with the design parameters and system operating requirements. This is our objective for an effective handover.

Experience has shown that vast amounts of money are invested throughout all areas of the building industry in routine maintenance activities or maintenance contracts, which are not fully understood or managed by the purchasers. This may be due to a poor technical appreciation of the tasks undertaken, poor performance by the maintenance provider, or lack of resource to manage effectively.

Alchemi have a wealth of knowledge in the design and specification of mechanical and electrical services installations, and as such a full appreciation of the maintenance activities that are required not just to keep systems ticking over, but also to keep them in prime working order.

Furthermore, our intimate knowledge of the basics mechanics of systems allows us to investigate and report on how effectively maintenance, if at all, is being carried out.

We are able to carry out site surveys of all installations to report on their condition and provide feedback on maintenance activities. Where required, we can provide detailed guidance on the levels of maintenance that are required to maintain installations in good working order.

We can offer a full maintenance management service, looking after the maintenance procedures, procurement and management of contractors, cost management and technical auditing of maintenance activities.
We believe that properly supervised maintenance or facilities management contracts will, if properly managed and audited, show significant improvement in the working environment, increased satisfaction to building occupiers and generate overall savings in building maintenance and running costs.

Building services installations are becoming more sophisticated and complex as new technologies are introduced. However, in reality, the same system operating objectives are applied regardless of the technical content, and the same basic functions are required, be it controlled heating, cooling, lighting, energy management, life safety system performance or door access control, for example.

The investment in any building services installation is worthless, if, at the handover of the project, the system fails to perform. At Alchemi, our motto “Delivering your Aspirations” embraces our commitment to ensuring that the client receives a complete, fully functioning installation at handover.

With our commissioning management service, we can ensure that your systems are installed in accordance with the agreed specification, functioning in accordance with the design intent and handed over fully operational.
We provide varying levels of commissioning management, with each intended to satisfy our client that he is getting the appropriate return from his investment.

The services that we offer include:

Appraisal of the design for commissionability
  Procurement of commissioning specialist services
  Review of contractor commissioning procedures
  Management of commissioning activities
